If you have ever dreamt of owning a heritage style property in a managed location, Rawlins can offer a limited number of freehold land parcels. Purchasers can choose from four existing Plantation House designs or have a bespoke dwelling designed by Kevin Horstwood.
Your property would include a landscaped Plantation Garden, all furniture and the option of rental through the hotel if desired. The Government has approved purchasers at Rawlins as eligible to gain citizenship in St Kitts.
The Product
Our "Carib Cottage" is a factory-made house, styled to reflect Caribbean island architecture of the
colonial period. It has an internal wall structure of welded aluminium box section which is factory-clad
in stone. The whole of the roof structure is of welded aluminium box and so it is very strong and needs
no maintenance. There is a double roof covering, a sub-roof of extruded board which has sealed joints
and is fundamentally water proof, and this has a traditional Red Cedar roof tile finish over it, mounted
on rot proof aluminium battens - double cover.
Conventional build methods have many inherent weaknesses in an island environment and these
have been designed out by a mixture of modem technology, materials and factory controllability.
Another big advantage of architecture by factory engineering is that you are in control of the whole
construction process and not at the mercy of itinerant building tradesmen. No builder from hell horror
stories here!!! No "extras", no cracks in plaster, no rusting nails in your roof purlins !!
There are currently four types of building available but customers variations on each type can be
incorporated. We are also willing to quote for a bespoke house type if the style is appropriate to the
plot.
Current designs include: (a) One bed Carib Cottage, (b) Two bed Carib Cottage, (c) Three bed Carib Cottage
St. Kitts
St. Kitts is one of the Leeward Islands in the Eastern Caribbean. The island is 23 miles long and 5
miles across at its widest part. It is rich in history and, although it became independent from Britain in
1983, it still feels extremely British in character. St. Kitts is relatively undeveloped and certainly unspoilt. It's clean. It's pristine. It carries an ambience
of such peace and tranquillity. There is a freshness of life there - unadulterated by first world fast
living and commercialisation.
